Child Modelling

Hi everyone, I’m a new mum and I overheard another mum at my child’s swimming lesson say that her son models for Zara. She isn’t very friendly, so I don’t feel comfortable asking her about it. I searched online to see how I could get my own son into modelling, but there’s nothing on the Zara website about child models. I’m now keen to register with an agency, but I don’t want to be scammed.

Are any of these five reputable?

  1. Sandra Reynolds
  2. HrMotherhood
  3. Bruce and Brown
  4. Grace and Galor
  5. Willow and Wisp

I found this article which seems to be quite comprehensive in terms of what to expect generally as well as high enough to get ripped off. It does seem like a big commitment.

As a Mum of three this has come up in the playground or kids club with every child. There are always parents saying their child is model or going to be a model but it never bears fruit. Unfortunately every parent thinks their child is adorable and agencies will happily agree with you to part you with your money for their photo portfolio

    I'd proceed with extreme caution

    Make £2024 in 2024...

Naturally you think your son is adorable.

How are you going to feel when the agency says "your kid's too ugly for us to use"?

Actually they won't, as @strawb_shortcake says, they'll charge you £££ for a photoshoot, portfolio and adding to their books.

My son age 2 was asked on a few occasions to model and to be in a television show but as he wouldn't reliably cooperate even with me I declined each request as it wasn't in his best interests

The approaches were from reputable sources I knew the tv producer but i wouldn't recommend it
