Friends of ours were using them as their conveyancers. Luckily, they weren't at a critical stage.

Since when did a British site's editorial content start using "shuttered" instead of "closed"?

PM Property Lawyrs took six months to process the sale of my late mother's house. On 30 January we received an email from them to confirm the sale was complete and the funds had been remitted to our nominated account. The new owners moved in and then we discovered that no funds had been paid before the firm was shut down on 2 February. As a result, my own house purchase, due to complete on 20 February, was unable to go ahead due to lack of sufficient funds. I am currently staying with my son, while my possessions remain in storage at an ongoing cost. I've had to submit a 'Discretionary compensation Fund' claim form and advised it could take up to ten weeks for my claim to be picked up by a case handler for investigation. Im also living with cancer and going through chemotherapy, so this is a very unwelcomed delay due to my individual circumstances. The press have now stated the S.R.A missed an opportunity to pick this up back in September last year, when complaints had been received that this group had failed on numerous occasions to pay off client mortgages. I think the timescales expected to resolve the situation is unacceptable.

@Beema1 I've got nothing to offer in the way of help, but didn't want to "read and run" - I truly hope that this can all be sorted out for you sooner rather than later.

Seconded. What a truly awful situation to find yourself in. I can only hope that there will soon be light at the end of the tunnel in all respects.
