Signing off training for new starters
Hi, i'm after some advice.
I've been at my current company for over 7 years.
In the last year, the guy who did driver training moved to a different job (within the company), I was asked to step in & offer on the job training for new starters, I asked if I would be paid more & was told they will look into it. However nothing has come my way. The previous guy was paid additional as he was holiday cover etc.
I am now being asked to sign the new employees training sheet to prove I've trained them, do I have the right to refuse to do that?
There are 20+ other drivers, who have never been asked to offer training. Some of the new people I have trained, are on more money than me (due to being taken on to drive larger vehcles).
Any views gratefully received.

I would have thought it a positive that you have been selected as the best person to deliver the training. It may fall under "other reasonable duties" if there is such a clause in your contract.
You probably can refuse to sign off the training but it might be seen as though you failed to deliver the training as much as the new starters failing to complete the training. Have the new starters all done the training to an acceptable level?
Often, to progress and secure the pay rise you desire, it can be necessary to do the job and demonstrate success.

What worries you about signing it off?
Is it a lack of pay and acknowledgment, or is it the responsibility if something goes pear-shaped, or is it both?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have not could of.0 -
Both the recognition & responsiblity.
The job is currently job & finish, so other drivers are working less hours, as having a trainee takes additional time, to ensure they are doing the job correctly.
Noone has made it clear, if I sign them off & something goes wrong, if I would be responsible 🤔
