Yes, the web page taxgrid.co.uk has been offline for a few days now. I think it might be be permanently closed down.

That's a pity because I really liked that online tax calculator.

Ah well, back to spreadsheets for me 😕

Coming back to this thread now as it seemed relevant to share a spreadsheet that I put together for doing PAYE take-home calculations. I'm been building a PAYE and pension calculator tool for NHS staff, and I needed a way to cross-check the numbers coming.

I'm using it plug in numbers and check if the two agree, if not then it helps me flush out issues.

    Screenshot from 2026-04-14 13-23-33.png

    What's in it
    - 2025/26 and 2026/27 (covers the Plan 2 student loan threshold change)
    - Difference pension plans: Salary sacrifice, relief at source, and net pay (which @jnorth55 was posting about originally)
    - PA taper, Plan 1/2/4/5, Postgrad (additive)
    - Calculations and rates are separated onto different tabs with sources listed
    - Workings tab shows the calculation breakdown live from inputs
    - Notes, About tabs tells you my assumptions and who I am if you're interested

    Limitations
    - England/Wales/NI only
    - annual basis (so won't exactly match HMRC's tool which rounds per pay period)
    - no BIK or niche allowances!

    Usage
File → Make a copy if you want to plug your own numbers in. Hope it helps. And if you use it and spot something wrong, please tell me.
