M+S refund when I've paid a mix of gift card/money?

Not sure if this is the right board to post on, but wasn't sure where to post.
I've bought an item from M&S in two-sizes, with the intention of returning whichever doesn't fit best (this seemed a lot easier than taking a gamble on a size).
As I part-paid with a gift card, and partly with cash, how will M&S credit my part-return on one of the items?

Gift card first usually.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.2 -
That seems likely. Not a massive deal (I just have to hope they have something I want before it expires).
