I don't see VPP as a currently offered tariff

VPP looks to be something you sign up to separately from IOF:

I don't have a Powerwall so I can't look for the option in the app.

Qyburn, Thanks for you thoughts and queries on this.

At first I couldn't find the details you showed. Then I placed the cursor on the graph and got the prices being paid per half hour. Thanks for leading me to this.

    1. Why doesn't Octopus alert people to how to get the prices?
    2. Why such a cumbersome system? To review a day's import and export, I would need to copy down the figures for each half hour for import and then export?

Nothing on my Octopus web pages or app mentions Virtual Power Plant. I know I am on it because my Tesla Powerwall App lists itand when I follow that menu there are references to Octopus. E.g, one says "VVP Support Octopus Energy GB". In fact, when I select that, I am taken to ads for Tesla cars! Another link says, "About Octopus Intelligent Flux" and this lead to an Octopus page. But Octopus have told me I am on Flux, not Intelligent Flux. And this is reflected in the image attached, which you requested.

Re. the possibility of "an older Tesla specific tariff predating IOF", I don't know enough to venture an opinion.

Right I see where you are. There are two parts to this deal. (2) connecting your battery via the Octopus app, giving them permission to use your battery in ways that suit them, even if they don't benefit you. And (1) which should have been done first, join Intelligent Octopus Flux tariff so that their manipulation of your battery benefits you.

You've done (2) and now you need to do (1)

As you currently are, every time they charge your battery it costs you substantially more than you'll get back from discharging it.

No, just view by day ..

If you click the My Energy link on your Octopus account Home page do you not get graphs showing your imports and exports, which you can set for daily, weekly, monthly, in £s or kWh, with or without standing charge? That's what you get with Agile, so I don't see why there isn't something similar for your tariff.

edit: Like wot has been shown in the previous post. It should also show live usage.

live usage needs the Mini, and even then doesn't show export with all meters. With the Aclara meter it would just show zero, with the Kaifa fitted last year export shows as a negative ..

I hope that my request to Octopus for the terms and conditions that apply to someone who is on Flux (non-Intelligent) and Virtual Power Plant will clarify. The request was made on the morning of March 5th and two replies from Octopus since then have not provided the t&c nor referred to my request.

You need to either get into IOF, or disconnect your battery and control it yourself.

Octopus have paused entry to IOF a couple of days ago, but they should still switch you on the grounds that it's misleading for them to let you connect the battery without also switching you to the correct tariff.

Just for comparison I posted the rates I'm getting on IOF (N Scotland). What rates do you see there?

Octopus's own website strongly suggests that you should only join the Tesla VPP if you are already on IOF.

    https://octopus.energy/intelligent-flux-faqs/faq-powerwall-signup/

You'll be asked to make sure that you're on Intelligent Octopus Flux before proceeding - tap 'Agree and connect' if you are & if not you can sign up here.

That link also includes instructions for disconnecting from the VPP.

After several emails to Octopus and raising a complaint about lack of information on pricing, Octposus have apologised and offered compensation because they had been slow to realise that with Tesla's Virtual Power Plant, I should have been on Intelligent Flux and not ordinary Flux.

    Thanks to all who responded.
