I have just done the 24-25 tax return, submitted on Jan 31st. Do you mean the return for that year can still be amended?

Yes, normally until 31 January 2027.

As @Dazed_and_C0nfused says yes you can. With the interest figures you mention your tax bill shouldn't change but do check the tax calculation to make sure.
As an aside you didn't leave out any other income did you? Like the pension?

My pension income appeared on the form automatically, I did not have to fill it in. So I assume this means it is already taxed at source, as my salary was

That is interesting. People say the state pension gets prepopulated on the tax return but there is less mention of private pensions. Certainly I had to enter the figures for my annuity in 24/5.
Yes a private pension will have had tax deducted under PAYE just like a salary. Whether the right amount of tax is deducted is another matter.

I have easily found the interest figure on my bank statements. However these are joint accounts with my wife, whereas the tax return is for me only. She does not do one. Does this mean I can half the interest figure on my tax return?

Yes, you declare your share of the interest on your tax return, which will generally be 50% for joint accounts.
