I used to return the junk (including the original envelope) in the prepaid return envelope, before the MPS really took effect. But have you noticed how most junk mail these days just gives a phone number or website, and no envelope
Do you think they've got wise to us?

We're quite good with junkmail at home; always tick the boxes to protect privacy, eve though some still gets through (which I generally return to sender... must try the mixing up someone'else junk).
The worst bit for us is junk mail from ex-residents. We rented the house while away, and receive post for both set of tenants + we receive post for tenants who lived here before us. Some more than 10 years ago!!!
Somehow I wonder if the US catalogues I keep sending back with polite notes to remove the ex-tenants from their mailing ever get there at all....

When you register for the Mailing preference service online (here), you can also register previous occupants of your address. I did that with a lot of previous tennants, so after a while, their junk mail should dry up, too.

With junk from inside magazines - I shake the magazine before I take it off the shelf. There's no bin in our tesco, I'm hoping they might get so sick of having to take it off the shelves that they may provide one.

Soba - you could offer to register your neighbour online for the mailing preference service, and hopefully cut out her junk mail?

What a great idea, never thought of that. Will speak to her later about it.
    Thanks.

I posted back my first junk mail in their envelope (no stamp of course) last week - I was very pleased hehe
I get a lot of junk for 'Male problems' and pills (even tho I am female), this only started to appear a few months ago, do you think it is possible that somebody signed me up for this "service"?
I remember when this was just a little website! :money:

I wouldn't worry - I expect they just reason that 50% of the time they'll reach a male!! (or perhaps a nagging female who might have a vested interest!!)

It IS a nice feeling when you send that bulging envelope back to them, full of junk, at their expense, isn't it?!!

This week I had two prize draws in one day, from two different catalogues, neither of which I use. I switched them and sent them off, it made me feel a little big brighter that day!! I love the idea that as more and more people do this, those who send out the junk mail MAY start to wonder whether it's really an effective use of resources.

I guess some of them will start getting more and more crafty...but then WE will have to start getting even more crafty!!!...I just don't know how yet!
