Widow's Teachers final salary pension calculation
How is the survivor pension worked out for a widow, if her teacher husband died when reired and claiming his teacher pension, and was in the old final salary scheme.
His service started in tbe eighties.
What formula is used to calculate widow's tp.
Thanks

The death benefits letter I received some years ago indicates that family benefits would be 50% of the annual pension in payment for the FS scheme.

Bear in mind, they probably won't just automatically pay out, the widow will probably need to apply specifically for this.
