Resolvecall collection letter please help
hi all. I have received a letter from resolvecall with regards to a date I owe to Orange. I don’t recall this debt, Orange went out of business years ago.
I understand that I have to send a prove it letter, if I sign the letter an I admitting that I owe this money because I don’t believe I do. By signing it does this give the company more clout to come chasing me for the recovery.
Just to add I did receive a text about a week ago to login to a portal before I got the letter.
I really don’t want them to come knocking at the door.
Thank you in advance

Look at the wording of the prove-it letter. It does not acknowledge the debt

Nothing acknowledges a debt except payment, or a letter saying "this is my debt".
Signed/unsigned/written in crayon/carved in ice, makes no difference to anything.
Debt collectors have zero clout anyway.

hi thanks for this, I did have a problem last year with the same debt but I sent a letter to capquest who worked sent arrow collection agency to collect the debt at a reduction rate. I sent them the attached letter. Does this make a difference if now resolve are chasing for the same debt? I still have the proof of belivey and a copy of the letter sent. Do I still need to send a prove it letter to resolve? Or all the letters sent previously and send?
please advise which would be the best way forward. Thanks in advance again

Is the debt still owned by Capquest?
You could send the letter to Resolvecall. Or just continue to ignore it.

I believe it is still owned by capquest but they have had the above letter. Is this harassment?? I’ve not had any proof of the debt.

Only the legal owner of a debt can take action against you through the courts.
Resolvecall are just a collection company, they do not own the debt, so they are of zero importance and can do nothing except perhaps knock on your door, leave a card, or write to you.
There is no point engaging with any company that have just been assigned the debt on a collection only basis, especially if you are in dispute over it, so just ignore them.
If you want to write to someone, write to the debts owner and make certain they understand you refute all liability for the debt in question.
