Can you have a fixed term annuity within a Sipp so the income stays there until you choose to take it?
Would the return be better than a 10 year IL Gilt ladder at say, age 65 in reasonable health?

I don’t think deferred annuities are a thing in the UK? I did look at fixed term and potentially even taking a 12 year one out now and just rolling the income back into the pension for a while or putting it in an ISA - but I think fixed term annuities might trigger MPAA so I don’t want to risk that as still have a couple years of heavy contributions planned

Yes you can. However, they are only available via IFAs.

With current annuity rates, potentially yes.
