Boxes and Packaging - Can I sell this?

Hi there,

Been going over the Income Booster Guide, and the 'Flog your Rubbish for Cash' section stood out to me a lot. And it had me turn my attention to something I have quite a bit of: Carboard Boxes and Paper Packaging.

See, I'm part of an online retail business (which is struggling, hence why I'm here). And after we buy stuff to sell, we end up with quite a few boxes and packaging left over afterwards. We use the packaging ourselves, but it seems to me we use less packaging than we receive, not to mention the large boxes we have, which we typically just flatten and put in a recycling bin. An extra-large one, which we pay extra to have.

Do people think this might actually be something we can sell on to get a little extra in returns?

Yes people always need moving boxes , of a variety of sizes.

    Look on ebay sold items.

  • I guess the question is then, what type of bulk do we need to look at for either the boxes or the packaging?

Though I suppose the boxes can be used to send out the packaging… and it really is the packaging that I feel like I need to sell more than just the boxes?

Usually doesn't cost to list on local marketplace ads. Give it a try nothing lost if it doesn't sell.

If nothing else you should be able to give away enough packaging to reduce your recycling costs. Moving boxes always go incredibly quickly on my local Facebook page, and I imagine there will be ebay sellers etc looking for packaging.

  • Yeah, I'll definitely give it a shot!

I'd say no. You can't post them. Which limits buyers to your local area. There are often moving boxes going free on marketplace, and the various other "don't dump it" free groups that we might not have visibility of. Plus anyone could go to a store or supermarket and get flattened boxes if they ask nicely (which I've done many times).
