Council Tax Challenge re - different size properties = same Council tax band ??
Hello,
Recently moved from a 3 bed Semi-detached house with back and front garden and driveway for multiple car parking which was taxed at Council band C rate.
Now live in a 2nd storey 1 bed flat with no garden or driveway for car parking, being charged at the same Council Tax C band rate. ????
I have challenged the Council Tax band rating with the VOA and their decision is that to make no change to my present home.
Anyone else overcome this peculiarity of different size properties same Council Tax banding ?
Any ideas please would be appreciated.

It's assessed prices that matter, not size.

Flat in England worth £52,500 as at 1 April 1991 = Band C
3 bed house in England worth £67,500 as at 1 April 1991 = Band C
Look around the neighbourhood and see of you can find any flats of a similar age and size in Band B
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0
