Work pension acceptance for under 22 year olds
After reading the related articles on workplace pensions for the under 22s, I am wondering if there is any legal legislation or document I could refer my employer to? We have some apprentices who are under the age of 22, been employed for over a year and earning well above the minimum earnings for acceptance. The company pension scheme is excellent and they are very keen to join, so would like to help. Thanks.

Yes, the rules are set and published.

The rules as Dunstonh posted.
What is your link to this case? Unless you have a reason to be involved such as line management, union rep you may find it better to provide the information to the apprentices to raise their own queries.

There's a nice simple explanation here you could add to the helpful links above: https://www.nestpensions.org.uk/schemeweb/nest/employers/about-workplace-pensions/qualifying-employees.html
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0 -
Doesn’t seem very fair does it?
Triple locked state pensions for the old.
No mandatory employer pension for the young.
