And I`m not denying this one bit, I like to fight these companies as much as you appear to do, but that`s not a "one size fits all" solution.
If you want to take that line, then you`ll get no argument from me, its just that not everyone falls into that category, some like the quiet life with as little creditor interruption as possible, so telling them what they want to hear will work nicely for them.
If you want to fight them on the streets, then by all means go ahead, but as this is a public forum, with a widley differing client base, you have to provide more than one way to deal with matters.

I hear you, but it was not really all a "fight" it was 2 very short emails lol. It is quiet, it is not full on battle mode.
Also just get a new phone number and tell them that number to call and it is even more quiet.
