How successful is no CCA
I’m a long way off requesting these but it’s got me thinking in the days of technology how successful is it where a CCA can’t be produced?
I ask this because I notice on some of my apps the CCA is there so I assume if couple of years down the line I request a DCA to produce one they will?

The older the debt the less likely there's a CCA available. But I've also heard of online agreements where the company has got the person's name completely wrong and other major errors. This is more common with women as they tend to change their name more than men.

It's the original creditor that holds the cca and anyone that buys the debt has to go back to them to get it. There are no hard and fast rules, but generally speaking the likelihood of the cca being found decreases as the age increases and as the number of times it had been sold increases.
Generally speaking I wouldn't ask for the CCA until the debt had been sold at least once, but if you are going to make a settlement offer then it's always worth asking for the CCA first.
Always read any response carefully as they often push their wording as close to lying as they can to try and fool people into thinking debts are enforceable when they aren't.

it is likely at the moment that the right to ask for a CCA may be withdrawn at some point in the next few years. You cannot base a plan on assuming this will work

The consumer credit act is undergoing a root and branch re-vamp, its looking quite likely sec 77/79 CCA will be watered down somewhat, or removed altogether, so that right may soon be lost to progress.

Wow did not know it was changing!
Not basing anything off CCA not being present I was just curious how common it was.

Based off of this, would we better to request CCAs sooner rather than later? I’m still waiting for defaults so haven’t done this yet.

The change isn't imminent. Still going through consultation.
When it becomes definite and a date is likely, I will flag it up.

Will these changes only apply to new debts after the change has been made or all current debts?

No one knows until the legislation is placed before parliament.

Many businesses get rid of a lot of data after 6 years. Even in my current business the performance data in the system goes back 6 years or so.
it is not CCA only either that matters.
