whatsgoingcheap.com has gone bust!

Just before Xmas, I purchased a few pressies for the grandchildren for WGC.com.

The lad I was dealing with made a comment about how they were struggling and were probably going to go out of business very soon. He was worried about losing his job.

Ive been looking at their website and its been bare for weeks and they have vanished off ebay.

Any one know if they are still trading?

It seems that way, they started charging for delivery that was free over £30 a while back, that would have had a serious impact on their value to customers, so I guess you are right by the look of things.

What a shame :( TBH I bought a pushchair off them with free delivery and it came the next day, so I'm not surprised they started to charge for it- it must have cost them a fortune.

They had some great bargains :(

  • I'm another one that got some really good bargains , it will be a shame if they have stopped trading. I kept looking but thought they were all on hols till after new year , maybe not then ?

Shame really. I did have some decent stuff off them (and a few things that ended up being faulty) but on the whole, they were ok.

The lad said they were doing well but their overheads were too high and it was affecting the profits.

That's a coincidence. I've just filed a dispute with paypal for a lamp I have not received from them. Bought through their ebay site before xmas and they have been ignoring my emails. They have received 16 negative comments in the last few weeks. You're theory is probably correct ..

  • Hi I have become a little concerned with this thread its just that I ordered an item from them on the 2nd January so I hope it arrives. If i do not receive the item because they have stopped trading how can I recover my payment (paid by credit card cost was less than £100 so not sure if credit card company would be liable).
