Sorry for bumping, but it's one of the many bugs with the new Rich Text Editor. The only way I've found round it is either creating a post from scratch or copying and pasting line by line. Both of which are time consuming! It's been suggested that as posts are created on the RTE it'll become less of an issue, but that doesn't help when copying and pasting from other sites. I suppose I should post something about it over on Rich Editor Feedback, but I don't have time.

@BeulahBukowski I have edited your post to reformat it so it's easier to read. In future, all you need to do is select the text, then a bar will pop up. Just unselect the button that says "Format as inline code" and the text will return to normal. @Midnighter @Wallad this might be useful for you too!
Also, to make a link clicky, all you need to do is put a space after the link and it will automatically become a clicky!
