Morning all
Not raining here for now but more due later, when will it end ? The wm is doing its thing and another load to go in after it will have to go on the airer today. The floor is down in the utility 😃 it’s not a match with the kitchen but very close, I just hope I can live with it, if not the kitchen one will have to be changed too, OH will get the skirting today as he ran out of time yesterday, and hopefully we can put the toilet back later.
I took little dog to the vet yesterday she is in rude health for a 10 year old but her teeth are bad, she needs 4 extracted and a good scale and polish, it’s going to be £1000 😳 so i need to get onto her insurance company later. I took her to the beach afterwards which is her favourite place for a good run around.
I’m going to make some roasted tomato soup today which we will have for dinner with a toasted sandwich I am really looking forward to it.
Housework to do this morning although the conservatory is full of OH tools so we will just have to work around that, Bathroom needs a good clean too.Gers what an emotional time for you, sending love xx
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning all, it's another wet and dark day today.
Yesterday morning we managed to miss the rain and eventually collected the test kit from the surgery, it wasn't waiting for collection as promised and we had to wait yet again, honestly they are a shambles. We did then go on to the family run GC for coffee and I as usual spent money in the farm shop and bakers. I did a load in the wm which had to dry indoors as the heavens opened in the afternoon. Once home we had a text to collect some meds from the chemist, oh well that will have to wait till next week.
Today the dw is doing it's thing and I have the washing to put away if it's dry, plus there is always the very long "to do" list to work through.
TA I hope your DGD gets on the course she wants. DGS is in the same boat but he's already 16 and he wants to do an engineering course. Of course the nearest one to him is at least an hours bus ride away so he's also applying for engineering apprenticeships .
Hope those with heating and wm woes get sorted asap. Sorry I have forgotten most of what has been said, my heads like a colander. Hugs to anyone in need.
nan xx
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently12 -
Good afternoon
Bright and sunny, and a balmy 9 degrees, although rain is forecast again later.
Troublesome cough is still lingering, and I seem to have developed what I think is sciatica down the back of my right leg. Internet says it can be due to too much sitting down, which I have been doing recently. More exercise needed.
Yesterday I did all the laundry, dried it in the td, which isn't very mse, but I feel better now it's done. I've got some steak and mushrooms slow cooking for a pie tomorrow, tonight will be an easy meal of lamb burgers on brioche rolls.
Nothing else planned, must get up and move about. Have a good day all, take care.

I'm back, sooner than expected as DS's visit has had to be postponed until tomorrow because he can't get their car out of their parking spot, thanks to someone blocking them in. 😡 It's a small private car park at the rear of the converted hotel where they live and for which they pay a monthly fee. Sadly this happens quite often as people don't want to pay on-street parking charges while they're out shopping or whatever - sometimes they get blocked in and sometimes can't even get in! Not to worry, I've plenty to be getting on with.
So far I've made the bed, put the rubbish out, have made a rice pudding in the SC and had a freezer dive for gammon for tomorrow's dinner and a couple of chicken legs to be cooked for later in the week. I've also put the airer out on the patio laden with the wet laundry dragged from the defunct machine yesterday; I don't think it will dry altogether but it will help. I noticed the weeds growing in the cracks between the paving slabs need to be evicted but that will have to wait until it's drier and warmer. This afternoon I have two pairs of thermal leggings to shorten and, if I have the time and the will, begin the search for a new WM.
@TA - Yes, the 6th form/college set up here is the same; I think it can be a good bridge between school and the adult world. I hope your DGD enjoys her time there.
@Gers - It's bound to be emotional for a while and I'm glad you and Lionel's niece have each other to lean on.
@camelot - Fingers crossed the heating engineer can fit you in asap and that your video will help him diagnose the fault.
@mehefin - Good luck with finding a gift for the birthday girl, hope you have a lovely lunch.
@Ruby - Ouch to the vet bill for the little dog's dental treatment. 😯
@nanny - I often wonder how much time we waste waiting around for others to get their act into gear!
Enjoy the weekend whatever you have planned, the usual virtual hugs are available where needed or wanted. Take care. X
Be kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
Good afternoon everyone.
I've not posted for a couple of days as there's not been much happening and my tablet doesn't seem to like the new set up on here.
There is a cool breeze today but it's stayed fine up to now. I have got my bedding on the line to see if it might dry if not then it's the airer. Haven't decided on my tea yet, a freezer dive may be called for.
Gers, thinking of you at such a sad time
Camelot, hope the heating is sorted soon.
As always thoughts are with the sad, lonely and the poorlies.
Take care all x
