Opinions on the new and 'improved' forum

I've just tried cutting and pasting details from an older comp into a new one, which is how I post most of my comps, and have found the formatting has gone all to pot. I'm now struggling figuring out how to correct it. It seems like whenever MSE make changes to the forum they **** it up. Sorry, but if this is the 'new norm' I may just stop posting comps!

EDIT: It's just taken twenty minutes to post two comps. Normally it would take a couple!

EDIT 2: I was posting from someone else's post, and it seems to have been more of an issue with the formatting they'd used, but I'm still having some issues cutting & pasting from my own posts.

Adding clickable links appears to be less obvious. Haven't managed to get the full URL to appear. This must be possible as other people have managed.

Also it used to be you needed the full URL to find competition easily with the search. Is this still the case?

I was posting @pa2539's comps as they haven't been online this week, hope they're all right, and ended up having to cut and paste each line of their post. Even then I ended up have to retype some lines.

Still at least we now have an angry face emoji . At least, I assume that's what this one is. > 🤧

Hi everyone

If you haven't already, please see the feedback thread.

We really are sorry for any issues. We knew that of all the boards, Comps Time - with the rapid need to post comps - could be especially impacted.

But changing to the new editor really is unavoidable. Apart from an enormous amount of bugs, a lot of upgrades to the forum have been held back for years because they could not work with the old editor.
And upgrades we have for Comps time also fall into that category.

Hopefully, a lot of copy/paste issues will resolve themselves with time as it'll naturally become copying text that was created with the new editor into a post you're creating with the new editor.

In the meantime, please share any tips that will help - Possibly pasting as 'plane text' or 'Paste and Match Style' will help in some situations.

It is a bit annoying, but I've thought that every time the forum has changed. I'm sure I'll get used to it!

I did wonder if how we present the links has any effect on the search.

Interesting. Looking earlier on desktop PC it looked like someone blowing off steam, but looking on mobile it looks like someone blowing their nose.

Just posted the win the draw comps that I usually post. Copy and paste of the text hasn't copied as it should do in places. One comp that I was doing added advertising to it so I had to delete and do it again.

Worst though is when I added them to the dailies thread they have come out really weird looking. I did find a way of adding them without the hyperlinks but then the links weren't clickable and with the preview button missing there is no way to play around to try and get them working properly.

I just don't have the time at the moment to be reading through the the feedback thread as I have just returned from holiday and am away tomorrow visiting family. If anyone can help then I will try editing it but if not it will have to stay as it is.

I just hate every time mse make changes and it seems us compers bear the brunt of the changes with mse knowing it will affect us the most.
