Good morning SCARLET and all to follow. Another drab and grey day in store yet again. But we seem to have the pleasure of sleet/snow now on the forecast for later.
Another rubbish night but that seems to be the pattern these days. I'm beginning to feel like Maggie T who they said only slept 4 hours a night.
Neglected w/e jobs await this morning then probably an afternoon of sloth. Although DD has delegated me for a task. The hospice have started giving patients and their loved one a little matching heart each in a net bag. Either crocheted or knitted, any colour, as long as palm size. So I am doing crochet ones. I have plenty of wool but youngest DGD seems to have pilfered quite a few of my crochet hooks!
Have a good day folks if you can with kind thoughts for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Thinking of Gers and the lovely LIONEL xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -
Morning all and thanks for starting us off @ScarletRibbons x
DH has a cold - ask me how I know! Lots of interrupted sleep for us both last night. I am working a couple of hours this morning then have the Royal Mail coming to collect a couple of parcels. Cheaper than going to the Post Office weirdly.I too am crocheting @TravellingAbuela as planning to yarn bomb my local post box at some point. The hearts sound lovely x
Dinner will be mustard greens with pork fillet tonight - looking forward to that.Hugs to all those feeling rubbish, thinking of Lionel too.Have a good day all

Morning again, it's cold and damp here, what a surprise!!
Sorry to read that you've had another bad night Coxy, strong coffee is my friend that helps me get through the day in these situations.
Are you crocheting those toppers for post boxes, they look really nice.
The crocheted hearts are a lovely idea TA. I have never crocheted, my sister once tried to show me how to do it but she was left handed and I'm not, so it didn't work. I would like to do it. I wonder if there's a YouTube tutorial.
I'm visiting my house bound old friend up the road this morning, she's recovered from the dodgy stomach problem she had last week. She's 91, and frail, with various health problems, but still likes to see visitors.
Hope that those celebrating Burns Night over the weekend had a good time.
Thoughts to our poorly people, Lionel, and others. There seem to be quite a few at the moment. Good wishes to you all.
Take care folks, stay warm and dry if you can.12 -
Morning allLovely idea about the hearts @TravellingAbuelaGoing to have a sort out of my kitchen cupboards today. Want to make room for my saucepans so I don't have to pile them on each other. It'll be like doing a jigsaw puzzle to make all the pieces fit! Might get out into the garden too to do a bit of tidying.Have a book on my ipad that I have 3 weeks to read from my local library. I read little and often so hope I finish it before it's taken off! It's the new Shetland book by Ann Cleeves. Loved the books and the tv series with Jimmy Perez but not keen on the new ones with the female detective.I'll get up in a minute and start the day.Have a good day all x9

Morning everyone need i say it’s dull dark and drizzling I’m going to meet my friend for a coffee and a catch up soon just be pleased to get out of the house surely this month must be at an end . Scarlet my daughter took it into her head about 6 months ago she fancied learning to crochet she’s making all sorts now and some of her friends have bought baby clothes and blankets off her that she’s made them she can even watch the television while she’s doing it now she said she finds it relaxing she learnt it all off you tube . I’m another that had a terrible nights sleep no reason but I don’t think it helps if I don’t get out for some excercise I’ve never been a good sleeper but I still hadn’t closed my eyes at 4 this morning then I nodded off and give in and got up at 6 . I have housework to do when I get back Im making some sort of pasta with some smoked bacon I found in the freezer it hasn’t made much of a gap . Gers I hope Lionel has had a comfortable night thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing11

Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning all. Dull, dull, dull here again.
I have a choice of popping to Sainsbury's or doing the ironing this morning! DS and his wife are expecting their first baby and they are visiting in March so I want to put together a little box of baby things, including first size nappies. I've just ordered a Steiff rabbit but that will be for later.
After that I'm making BNS soup and then have my second Scottish dance class tonight. I might wear something a bit cooler as it got rather hot towards the end last week.
Hope L enjoyed seeing his family at the weekend; you are a star Gers
Take care all.9 -
Morning everyone
I didn't post yesterday as all I had to say was I still feel ill and it's still raining! As for this morning, yes I still feel ill and it's still raining! I've just taken the last of my antibiotics, will just have to see how I feel over the next couple of days, but I'm signed off work for the week.
Eldest DD and I booked a holiday in Corfu yesterday in the Easter school holidays, so that's something to look forward to. She'd found flights and we both found the same apartment separately so we just booked it. It's in a place called Kassiopi , if anyone's been....it looks beautiful. I've never been anywhere in Greece.
She's been sending me photos of deep snow in Nuremberg this morning, happy that they're having a snow day as no one can get into the office.
Younger DD says little one's tubey hole is starting to look a bit better, a nurse is going this morning to swab it to see if it's still infected. DD is hoping to get her to school afterwards, depending on how she is.
I'm taking mam to her doctors' appointment at lunchtime, I'm not looking forward to it at all, but she needs it.
I'll go down earlier to do some jobs for dad, as I wasn't there yesterday.
Gers I hope Lionel is comfortable, look after yourself too.x
Right best move, hope everyone has a good day x

Morning all,I am feeling considerably better this morning, still a lingering cough and lack of energy- 4 weeks since we started with this blooming virus. I haven't caught up or posted as there was nothing to say !DS fixed the brakes on the camper yesterday following an advisory on the MOT, & our main car went for its MOT and failed so that is still there as they are too busy to do it for a couple of weeks
I do need to got to a garden centre to get a voucher for my BF birthday on Friday and I'll need to post it later & hope it gets there in time..The virus has left us very unorganised. We have started eating proper meals in the last week, just had no appetite before - I've lost nearly half a stone - lightest I've been in about 3 years. Although the bags under my eyes have got heavier
Thoughts are with any other poorlies, and Gers & Lionel.

Morning all and thanks @Scarlet for the start today. It's looking dull and murky out and the weather forecast says it will be mainly dry but cloudy, with rain later this evening that could fall as sleet over higher ground. Apparently it will feel somewhat chilly too and we'll be lucky if it gets up to 0 deg during the day.

Today I'm going to my local Sainsbobs with an item I need to return and I'll also call in at the community hub to book a repair for my heating timer. Normally I'd do an online request but it's not on the council's drop-down menu and getting through to them on the phone is nigh on impossible so in person it is. It's so long since I've been there I'm going to have to look up the bus times first to make sure they haven't changed. Tea tonight is a chicken kyiv, baby potatoes and mixed veg.
@TA - The matching hearts is a lovely idea, if youngest DGD has some of your crochet hooks maybe she could do some too?
@Scarlet - I can knit and sew but crochet has always escaped me too, not for the want of trying either. Hope you have a good visit to your housebound friend today.
@WL - It might be worth checking out if the supermarkets you use have a baby event coming up soon? Enjoy your Scottish dance class tonight.
This virus is such a persistent one and I really feel for all the poorly ones out there as well as those struggling to get a decent night's sleep.
Whatever your plans are for the day, I hope it's a good beginning to the week. Take care. XXBe kind to others and to yourself too.9
