  • Just a quick thank you to the site for highlighting Home Responsibility Payments errors.  After starting a claim in the summer - and making a few follow-up contacts, last week, my wife received a substantial 5 figure sum in respect of 20 years of arrears and an £80 a month pension increase.

While grateful that they have recognised and corrected their errors, I wonder how many other women and carers might still be missing out?

I was also rather shocked to discover that DWP policy is not to pay any interest on the arrears. As you can imagine, these payments are substantially devalued - particularly those which should have been paid up to 20 years ago.

Is this something that Martin is aware of and is there a chance that the situation might be improved?

In 2024 I bought a car, 6,000 miles after purchase it required full rear suspension replacement costing c£1,700. I noticed an MOT 6 months before purchase highlighted rear suspension wear for attention. The garage conducted MOT at purchase was clean. This didn’t add up to me, it was clear the rear suspension issue was never repaired and was present at time of sale. The condition of the vehicle was misrepresented.

After seeing your article on S75 claims, I put a case together as I paid a deposit on credit card. The bank refunded me the full cost of the rear suspension replacement. Thank you for everything you do.
