Scottish debt token payments and some questions

    Action through the courts only usually happens once your debts have defaulted, and have been sold to a debt purchasing company, and you then continue to ignore them for quite a long period of time.

    Its normally a last resort, rather than a first response, although occasionally creditors do go straight down that route, but it is rare at such an early stage, and you should receive a letter before action (or Scottish equivalent), giving you a chance to come to an arrangement prior to any claim being made.

    If every defaulted debt went to court the system would back up enormously, and then the debt collection industry would be out of business also, and that`s not going to happen, its far too lucrative for them.
