Uber Refund

I purchased train tickets through Uber but cancelled the order within minutes. I got an email straight away confirming a full refund in 3 -5 working days. 5 working days were up on Friday 16th January but no refund. I called 6 different numbers to ask for help and got none. I sent three messages via various contact templates and still no help. I also messaged via Facebook and did get a response but they said they couldn't resolve the situation. It's just after Christmas and money is tight and I could really use that refund as it was a significant amount. I have messaged again today to complain that I have not been acknowledged. What can I do?

How did you pay for the tickets, and how much was it in total?

Hi I paid using my debit card and it was just under £200. I contacted my bank they can't help until 15 days have gone by.

Depends what type of train ticket you bought, some are non refundable.

You are also better off avoiding faceless overseas based sites such as Uber - it may be convenient, but not when things go wrong.

The tickets were refundable with no penalty to pay. I got an email confirming this. I totally agree they're a disgrace!

There is no one to agree with as no one else has said that they are a disgrace, they are not.

What Uber will have done is process the refund on their side in 3-5 working days, but it could easily take 7-10 working days to show in your bank account as it also needs to be processed via the card network and your bank itself. In theory a refund can happen and be cleared into the customer's account in as little as one working day, in a worst case scenario it can take up to 28 days.

MattMattMattUK you're comment isn't appropriate. MY OPINION is just that and can't be wrong given the situation Uber has left me in. I came to this forum for help as I'd exhausted everything else. In future please refrain from commenting in such a thoughtless way

I think the point was to suggest that your comment that you "totally agreed they were a disgrace" didn't hold water as no-one else had said that thus there was no-one to agree with!
