At the start of my payments now I have defaulted on a few. Made my first payment to Lowell via a standing order as I am in charge then if I want to up or lower the balance. I also sent them an email telling them this. They have sent me a direct debit mandate for a payment plan. Can I ignore this and carry on as I was?

Yes ignore them, they won't refuse the standing order. If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.1

Yes stick with the standing order, they like direct debits because it makes it more difficult for you to change the amount.1
