If an organization has been accredited Living Wage Employer, do they have to pay the real Living Wage. Which is what value per hour from March 2026?
I do not want to start with a comment on this after a successful job interview. However when they sent the documents today, for me to understand the role minutiae - they sent a different value per hour, of 12.60. That is less than the NMW... and this is for a job commencing march 2026

I would challenge it. You can easily look up the real living wage on gov.uk.homebysea said:If an organization has been accredited Living Wage Employer, do they have to pay the real Living Wage. Which is what value per hour from March 2026?

NMW until April is £12.21 (hence the proposed start date of March 2026) so the £12.60 is above NMW assuming there will be an uplift from April to £12.71 or betterhomebysea said:they sent a different value per hour, of 12.60. From the Living Wage Foundation website: In order to become an accredited Living Wage Employer, you need to pay all of your directly employed staff a Living Wage, and have a plan in place to extend that to regular sub-contracted staff as well. The current Living Wage rates are £13.45 per hour and £14.80 in London.1

Sounds like they've made a mistake - possibly because they are using an old template letter. Politely point out to them that there appears to have been a typo(!).homebysea said:
