Still not had a letter confirming my settlement amounts but they sent it to FOS and they forwarded it after I chased them up for it.
I’ve no statements of the balance etc as they said
“Because the account was charged off on 30 May 2025 in preparation for a possible debt sale, a statement won’t be produced.”
So presume that’s why no letter they just gave to FOS in email what they paid and what’s left to pay. Should I still request a letter? I’ve had nothing.
They then added:
Whilst dealing with the complaint, we have identified that Mrs may have concerns about payments, may be experiencing financial difficulties, or her current personal circumstances may make it difficult to manage the accounts. If she requires further support, there are payment support options available via our app and e-servicing website. Our Customer Care Team are also available to help via our online chat service, or she can call them on 0333 220 2626.
Well I can’t go online to pay anything or sort anything as they closed the account. But this doesn’t make it clear if they are selling it on or keeping the debt themselves.
Do i ring the customer care line they have given and hope they can sort a plan or do I wait until they contact me to pay. I’ve no idea who to pay really yet and want to make sure when I do it’s to the right people.

I would not go chasing this, as the end result will likely be the sale of your balance to a 3rd party anyway.
Just wait and see who writes to you in the future, the radio silence may go on for several years, or it may end next week, just wait and see what happens, as the sale of these accounts is decided way above customer service level, so you may ring up and arrange a payment plan one day, and then be told its been sold the next.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. ( I know I know lol I shouldn’t have and won’t again.) I panicked thinking I needed to get it sorted now or might get harrassed or what ever. Ive calmed since lol
When I rang I asked how I would be able to start paying. All they did was provide me with a/c and sort codes and said just pay into there. Didnt even offer a plan set up They said it was still with them and may get sold he didn’t know. So I’ll take that as yes will be sold as it was about to be before I complained. But I’ve no log in to check my balance often to make sure if I paid anything they are getting payment he also said they won’t be sending me letter telling me what to do ether they just sent a text with the accounts numbers. So wasn’t happy with that. So wlli be doing as you say and just leave it, not pay anything and wait until they write to me. I’d rather it go to a collector and then I can get a plan online.0 -
I doubt the person you spoke to will have any idea of the policy of the lender for selling unaffordable debts. "May" is a weasel word, it means nothing at all.1

Yeah when he was so vague with it all I got the feeling he didnt know anything about what was going on with it. Which made me realise best just leave it until contacted.ManyWays said:I doubt the person you spoke to will have any idea of the policy of the lender for selling unaffordable debts.
