I just played my first gig in over four yrs (guitar). and it went aight, and I've been asked back and yeah.

BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! More of a win that that................my old schoolmate,who I recall as a spotty 14 yr old bass player is none other than the bassist in "officially the hottest new music sensation of 2007" (according to Radio 2, Glastonbury, and ASDA, aparently, seeing as they have, Ive been told, sold out of his band's no1 album) CHERRY GHOST!!!!!!!!!!:T :T :T :T :T :T :T


I'm totally stoked by this - well chuffed he's finally doing what we always jokingly dreamed about. I always thought that if this situation occured, and someone I knew made it big in music and I hadn't, that I'd feel jealous. But, strangely, I really don't. I'm just made up that the daily grind that is a muso's life has paid off for one of us.

SO..............check out CHERRY GHOST!!!!!!!!! :T :T :T :T

in spite of my newly formed comping addiction, I don't think I could ever win a prize as big as this!



















(except maybe when myalbum goes double platinum, that is :rolleyes: hey, it's only a matter of time........we need some female guitar-heroes, after all.......... :cool: )

That sounds great whats the name of your band and where do you play.

Great when someone you know does well.

Love hearing when others win and it is great, must admit i don't feel jealous. it just makes you feel more determined you can do it too.

Congrats on your gig going well. I had heard of Cherry Ghost before since they are on a free CD with this month's The Word magazine. I'm just playing their track ("Thirst For Romance") now... sounds like an indie-country crossover sort of thing. Quite fun on first hearing.

at the moment, I'm without a band, so just playing loads of acoustic nights, open mic, and jam sessions. but the guy who organised last night is a friend from school who plays drums and sings, andwe're planning a blues band, so I'll update this post as and when we get that sorted. :cool: < me, being 'bluesy'

glad some ppl have heard of Cherry Ghost - I felt a little guilty that I hadn't heard of them, but the guy who told me about it all did try to buy their album in ASDA only to find it had been sold out (I'm still a little in shock about this, its bloody bizarre but in a good way, lol)
