Any courses in which you get a certificate at the end(I know there's plenty out there that don't) would be very much appreciated.
I'm sure I've seen one myself somewhere... Perhaps someone has a link to it.

They have a bunch of tests, including a Typing, Speed and Accuracy one.
It may cost some money right now, but they occassionally (very occassionally) do 'deals' whereby all their tests become free for a limited time.
I have my 'Masters' certificate in the Typing, Speed and Accuracy, and it looks very good indeed.0 -
A certificate like that isn't really worth the paper it's written on.
What do you need/want one for anyway?
To increase your typing skills my advise would be to visit some "chatrooms" on a regular basis.
Then after a while, try doing a typing speed test, use the resulting speed instead of a "certificate".No Links in Signatures by Site Rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -

I can't see any interviewer testing how many word per minute I can type. Therefore I imagine a certificate would be better than just my word.
You bring up a good point though. I don't know how standard it is to have "proof" of typing skills for admin. work. As it is my typing is horrible so a course(with or without certificate) would be necessary.0 -
my local library does all sorts of free web-based courses. you had to sign up at the library first and you can get a certificate for them if you ask the library staff after you finish.
(i did the time management one and thought it might be nice to have a certificate for my cpd file)0 -
The best typing certificates are those awarded by RSA (Royal Society of Arts), they are internationalkly recognised too as opposed to some mickey mouse ones that you see on the Net. You do have to pay for these exams but if I were you I would be contacting my local college to see whether or not they offer part time courses. You need to practise practise and practise to get your speed up mind.0

I don't have a certificate. I would say that you practice online to see how good you are, then apply for jobs. If they want a cert, maybe the RSA would let you just pay for the exam? Otherwise say you are happy to sit any test they care to set, would indicate your confidence in your ability.0 -

If I were you I'd rater work on my speed and the accuracy then aiming for a certificate.0 -
I'd agree employers are more interested in how many wpm you can type. I have had two typing tests and have yet been asked to show a copy of my RSA certificates.
Get yourself a good typing program and you will be flying :-)0
