    Do you know if the debt to hmrc is your personally or from the limited company? And if from the Ltd, did you personally guarantee it.

    Your comment that you intended to make the final bumper payment by remortgaging suggests that you are personally liable, but this isn’t automatic.

    This maybe one of the situations where you can’t afford not to get professional advice, even though you say money is tight.

    It was between the HMRC and the company and was not personally guaranteed. But it seems they might be able to get around it because of the loan charge thing.
