Just went to book some tickets via TP, they now want to charge me 4% booking fee when I use the web, no thanks.

Yes I got the same when I booked something at the weekend, max of £5 apparently

While they give cashback and it's on expenses I don't care but will certainly not be using them unless cheaper for personal travel

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

On 24/4/26 I purchased 3 year Senior Railcard from Trainpal using the MSE offer. I activated the card by buying a train ticket straight away. However they repeatably send me emails asking me to activate the card. I purchased a return ticket for a return journey 23/7/26 - 27/7/26 thru Trainpal but they have not issued the digital rail card. I have sent over 6 messages to Trainpal which they never acknowledge.

So they've had £60-odd quid off you for 3 months and not issued the Railcard?

If, for some reason, the first ticket purchase had not triggered the issue process then after a month the purchase price should have been refunded. Are you sure this hasn't happened?

I wouldn't have assumed the Railcard discount for your recent journey, presumably you were not asked to produce the Railcard?

There's a specific email address to send details of failures in offers that MSE have promoted, maybe their intervention will have more effect than you 6 emails.

Has your MSE Blagged voucher or cashback not arrived?

If your voucher hasn’t arrived, contact us at voucherhelp@moneysavingexpert.com and please include your full name, order date, order reference & email you signed up with. We’ll pass these on to the relevant company to sort but do check the T&Cs first to ensure you're due the voucher now.

I'm trying to register on TrainPal and it states they are sending a four digit validation code. It never arrives. I cannot find how to contact them as that states I need my Booking ID?!! can someone help? has anyone experienced this and how did you overcome it?

Please can I resurrect this post? My husband bought the F&F railcard through the MSE discount on TrainPal. I am named user. Can I use the card if he is not present on the journey? I am not convinced I can. I will have the children with me. Thank you.

Absolutely yes, one or both of the named users have to be travelling with at least one child. Assume you have the app with your name on a card?

    Here's the rule

4.3. To purchase discounted tickets, at least one cardholder and at least one child aged 5 to 15 years must be travelling together.

Ah, had no idea that TrainPal have decided to impose their own rules on top of the Railcard ones.

That does look like you can't use discounted tickets unless one of the travellers is the single named card holder.

If that F&F product had been bought from the actual Railcard site then two named travellers would each get a card each.

    Another reason to avoid TrainPal.

How much is that MSE discount worth, because in this instance it really doesn't seem to be much of a bargain.
