Hi.

I have an occupational pension with Natwest Cushon. It rises the same rate as comparable to 1% interest. I was thinking of transferring it to a SIPP which pays 3% interest. However, Cushon is being bought by WTW; should I wait to see how WTW fairs?

thank you for any help

WTW are administrators.  I suspect Cushon  is the same.
Will the change affect how your pension performs?  Probably not.
But you need to dig a bit into what sort of occupational pension you have.
Is it a defined contribution scheme?
If yes how is it invested?
Who decides how it is invested?  You?  Or Cushon?
Are you still contributing to the pension?
Is your employer still contributing to the pension?
If you transfer it to a SIPP will those contributions carry on or stop?

The deal doesn't close until later this year - regulatory approval is needed. These are master trusts, not just administrative services as the post above incorrectly speculates.

You should receive full information in due course as to how it impacts on members. Unless you are planning to hold a lot of 'uninvested' cash, the interest payable on such funds isn't going to be a major consideration.
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!
