Mortgage Repossession

My friend is behind in her mortgage payments and has had a court letter with a date to appear for Repossession. I have given her advice to try and make things better before court but she’s not listening and I doubt she will even go to court. How quickly after court date will house be repossessed?

The default option is a 28-day possession order. After that date they can apply for a warrant to evict, where a bailiff will attend with a locksmith.
Because this is a severe sanction, many judges will want the defendant to attend. So a 28-day adjournment is also possible.0 -

Generally it's best to engage with the process, if you can persuade your friend to attend. Ignoring it will only speed things up.0
