Being honest what I’m trying to do is restrict my spending when on a night out as I get carried away and don’t have much will power so thought there’d be some way of putting a temporary block on my card
You can achieve this with a second account, just put the money in that you want to spend in that account and only carry that card.

Even better, set up your safe account so you can't transfer funds on-line.

Freeze your savings account, literally. Put the card in a bowl of water and freeze it. So you have time to think about your actions before you darn the account.

And maybe start paying for nights out in cash. Only take out what you can afford, less a cab home. And leave the cab home cash inside the house?
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing

The problem with cash (the obvious answer to limit spending) is that many places no longer take it.

Taxi drivers also don't necessarily let you out until you've paid - so you won't be able to go inside your house to get the cash for the fare.

The answer is to take a card with the night's budget and a dumb phone so you can't access apps to move money from other accounts or use Google wallet/Apple pay

Open an account like Monzo,Starling,Metro,Kroo or with any bank or building society which is not your main one. Put the money in there for the nights out.  Don't take your regular bank card with you on nights out, only the spending account.
