I copied this image from a post in another thread. The figures are out of date but it shows the pension forecast which you should be able to see if you go into the state pension bit on gov.uk (for me it is part of my personal tax account). Your NIC record is in the same general place just needs you click on a different link.

Oh and just to say not everyone will have the "You cannot improve your forecast" language. It is there that you should look as well as the bit about this is based on years up to x. There may be a sliding scale saying based on years up to x you will get £y but if you continue to contribute until z date you will get the maximum (or some other figure).

Thanks, am on hold, 10 mins so far and they say could be up to an hour - thankfully it is a freephone number.

I do not have the required ID to use the online gateway so only got halfway through that process and am now waiting on the phone. The number I was given to call on the website turned out to be wrong, but the advisor there did give me the right number: 0800 731 0175 if anyone else needs a pension forecast over the phone because they don't have suitable ID to verify them on the website.

Will update as and when, thank you so much for mentioning this. Had no clue!

Well it was only 30 mins on hold in the end, and a very helpful chap who said I will need 34 years and have 27 already, BUT that I missing one for 2024-2025 (which was around the time I migrated from ESA to UC) so I have just messaged them. So I actually have 28 years already, only need another 6 which at age almost 51 I should be fine to qualify for the full state pension.
