Can anyone define the categories of pensions?
I only have 3
Standard life workplace which is no longer active and has no fees except the fund fees. They said I can change it to a ppp if I want to bring in anything else (transfer in).
Scottish widows workplace limited funds via Royal mail. Has a nmpa benefit which stays at 55.
Nest, again limited funds but can still add money or transfer in.
Not sure whether to keep any of these or set up a s.i.p.p and put them all together?

They're all defined contribution pensions.
Other types of pension schemes are defined benefit, and collective defined contribution of which there's currently only one example in the UK which started in October 2024(Royal Mail).FIRE !!!1 -
Plenty of basic info here: https://www.moneyhelper.org.uk/en/pensions-and-retirementGoogling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0
