Hi all, I have spends to declare 😁. A shirt for a friend's birthday and a pair of shoes needed for a wedding so 10 coupons spent so only 22 left now.
On the subject of slippers I am currently wearing what I think are called clog slippers and came to me via OH who had them as a present but found them too small. They are moulded stiff leather with a thick sole, the insole is shaped but leather covered and I must say I find them very comfortable, they are sturdy enough to support my foot and I have no problems walking in them. When I have killed them I will be looking for a replacement pair. I like slippers that can cope with being outside for when I pop rubbish to the bin but also can be slipped on easily for those trips to the bathroom in the early hours 😂 .
I like the sewing bee, some of the garments are quite amazing but like a lot of things I see during fashion week I do think " who would actually wear that? 😂. maybe I am just not adventurous enough 😂
BSW is my local wool shop but I must admit I don't go there very often as it's just too tempting but their sale section is always worth a look and the staff are lovely 😁.

Just popping in as promised to report back that one pair of the sheer ankle socks I bought on 30 April has just been binned. Both socks developed holes at the toes this week. The other 2 pairs are patterned so haven't been worn as much and are still OK.

I’m just watching this week’s Sewing Bee episode. The pattern challenge is to make a tutu. I am gobsmacked by the number of sewers who haven’t free-ed up the arm of the sewing machine, in order to stitch the netting onto the waist. Surely most modern machines have the ability to remove the hard shell around the presser foot pad, to form an arm where you can stitch circular items?
(Sorry, my sewing machine anatomy is failing me, but you get my drift, don’t you?)

@pipneyjane - I do think they were pretty good value. They were more expensive than I would usually buy but they've lasted nearly 4 months. Quite a lot of the ones I've tried before don't last past the second or third time of wearing them.

Hope springs eternal. Having ordered and returned three coats I have ordered one in the Hobbs sale. It was an extra 15% off the sale price today and if it doesn't fit I can return it via the shop which makes life a bit easier. If I keep it that will be exactly 66 coupons. Though I don't actually need anything else so maybe, just maybe, I will keep to my ration this year It's a smart coat rather than an everyday one so I am seeing if I can come up with something that would keep me warm going to Sainsbugs or going for a walk and would go with jeans
I ordered a coat on Vinted last year which turned out to be a very and I mean very 80s cut. Lordy, did we actually wear stuff like that? It's unwearable so I am having a go at remodelling it. It saves all that difficult tailoring of collars which puts me off having a go at making a coat from scratch. I'm struggling a bit about deciding how best to take in the American footballer shoulders (with a flange as well!) and how to give it a bit of shape around the midriff. Not that my actual midriff has any shape in real life but it would be nice to hint at some. If it was oversized all the way down it would be easier, I'd do a shoulder princess seam which would tick both boxes but the lower half of the coat doesn't have any spare. I find myself mulling it over at 3 am
