DB Scheme and Minimising Future 40% Tax - What makes most sense?

Thanks - yes - these were the figures provided to me by Aptia who manage the pension.katejo said:
It sounds a big difference to me too. I have a similar type of quote (on a more modest DB pension).leosayer said:1) £38.2K full pension or £27.8K and £185.3K tax free cash
Are these number confirmed?
A reduction from £38k to £28k seems much bigger than others I've seen in my (somewhat limited) experience.
The NRA on both pensions is in fact 60 but I have continued to work for various reasons - beginning to think this wasn't such a great idea perhaps.
Each pension revalues by a 6% increase for not taking at NRA.
In reality both pensions are for service with the same organisation but two distinct periods.
The quotes I have provided were generated in January 2025 (and were simply a 6% increase on the year prior) but I will ask for up to date quotes again in January 2026, though I don't expect them to change from current figures.
