Hiya all,
We are in a lot of financial difficulty at the moment in that we are in arrears with pretty much everything - although we are managing paying our full rent plus repaying arrears and council tax and all the other utilities). At the moment we dont get any financial assistance to pay these although i think we could and am in the process of applying and hopefully will get some back paid.
I have missed payments on all credit cards/storecards and loans since september on the advice of an IVA councillor only to be told later she doesn't think my IVA will go through so i am in a worse situation now than i was before because at least up til then i was paying them - my next step is bankruptcy if i cant sort the problem out asap - Although I'm considering just letting it all go to CCJs as i've got a bad name anyway
The problem mainly started in August when my other half was made redundant from his job and went back to his old on on less money which just about pays the rent and 1 weeks worth of shopping, I pay for everything else.
The only way i can see to help is to get him moved out of our house into his parents for a while to help clear some of the most important debts to keep the wolves from the doors kind of thing.
I think that with me on my own and 3 kids, working part time earning £560 a month will get all rent (£750 per month) and council tax paid (i do 20 hours a week stacking shelves at a supermarket) which will free up an awful lot of money. Obviously it will be very hard for our relationship but to be honest we are under so much stress as it is, its really not going to make matters any worse.
I need to avoid bankruptcy as much as possible since i could most probably end up being evicted and nowhere to live.
Any other advice would be great xx
