A very early good morning 😬
We are leaving here at 3 to go to the airport, luckily we are only about an hour away so not too far to travel.
Dinner tonight will be in a lovely little Italian restaurant overlooking one of the canals I’m sure.
Nothing much else to report, no housework of washing to be done till we return on Monday 😬
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning All
Thanks for the start Ruby, have a wonderful time.
After fog all day yesterday (couldn't find the fog lights in the car!) it's back to wet and windy this morning. The washing from last night is on the airer, will finish it off in the TD later if it needs it.
Nothing of note happened yesterday apart from making meringues that aren't quite set, they are having another hour in the oven before I go to work - not sure if it will work or not.
Hope everyone is well, take care. XX11 -
Morning all. @Ruby will be well on her way by now. 😁
My appointment yesterday was disappointing though expected. The problem is confirmed as caused by scar tissue, not anything which can be resolved by surgical or medical intervention. I will explore if myofascial massage release is a possibility after the new year when the more pressing problem is sorted. Onward! The PI I was in was having its restaurant refurbished (look more like building work) so no bar or food. They promised complimentary pastries, fruit and coffee but then only had coffee as the delivery hadn't turned up. Luckily I had brought a banana with me.I was home by 2p.m. After leaving the pea-souper behind the weather was clear and bright so I really enjoyed the drive home. Not much traffic heading north which made it more enjoyable. No detour through Glen Croe though the one in town is still in place.Today I have nothing pressing to do apart from a couple of calls and emails. Still eating out of the freezer. I hope that everyone is doing well. Hugs to all. 🥰🤞12 -
Morning allAnother lie in this morning. Long may it continue.Managed to do some wrapping yesterday but wasn't really in the mood so will finish it today. Just a bit of housework and some washing to go on the airer. It's my DS's birthday today. Gave him his card and present when he came round the other week for mine as I knew a midweek birthday is difficult with work etc! Always remember having him so near to Christmas and coming home with a new baby on Christmas Eve after being in hospital for the previous 6 weeks with pre-eclampsia! He's always been nothing but trouble!
Have a good day all x12 -
Morning folks I think RUBY will be well on her by now if her flight on time. Hope she has a wonderful time.
Don't know what the weather is doing just now but light rain is forecast. I hope last night's fog has disappeared.
My DF made it for lunch yesterday but we didn't get our favourite table in the little room by the fire. But we did get a table which was the main thing! Today is Skipton bus trip day which I always enjoy. Especially our wine 'n dine lunch and much chatting afterwards. I hope it's not too busy with shoppers. I don't intend buying unless I happen to spot a Christmas jumper which I have been looking for for weeks but can only see big sizes left everywhere.
Great excitement yesterday, after bemoaning the lack of cards in the post, THREE cards waiting on the mat when I got home! Maybe today will bring more! Could I cope!!
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. GERS sorry yesterday's appointment wasn't more promising. Take care all be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Morning all and thank you to @RedRuby1231 for the early start! Safe travels xx
We went to Canterbury Christmas market yesterday. Took the park n ride which was both convenient and fun! Parking for 3 hours for the panto last week was £12.40 so the £4 PnR was much more MSE!We got the majority of gifts we needed. Just need a stocking filler for a nephew and some cash for our children which we can get today in town. We also need to print a photo to frame.Dinner will be roast pork which feels indulgent midweek 😊
That’s really not nice @snoozer. Poor Laura getting upset xHope your meringues turn out okay - I don’t mind squidgey!Glad your drive home was pleasant @Gers x
Happy Birthday to your DS @Chrisca50 hope he has a good day.Have a good day all

Morning all
Everyone is up and at it early this morning.Feeling weary - yesterday was full on with exam invigilating , home via the Post Office with the inevitable long queue. Had to sew a couple of orders and pack up more, cooked dinner and then ready to collapse. I will finish writing cards today.Haircut this morning and a drop off at the charity shop.Sorry to hear there wasn’t better news Gers.
TA - 3 cards here too though like everyone they’re much reduced.
take care all

Morning! Not raining yet! Waiting this morning for a phone appointment, after that,t eh world is my oyster because I don't fancy doing much today, actually, there is some shopping to do of cat food etc, so probably will have to do that after otherwise they might eat us in our sleep .I was pretty good in Costco yesterday, got the bacon and cheese, predicted slab of beer for OH, two extras though. He wanted a new mat for the front door for when I come home from the allotment [ or he does on his bike] and I wanted some JD Honey
I think I won that one
I have one card to post today, which makes my grand total of five cars, although two are to other countries... I am trying to show OH how constant the search for ideas for food are when you have to decide what's for supper, so I've made him do it the last few days..I think he's beginning to see..but that does mean it's a breakfast for supper tonight
Ruby, have a wonderful time, sounds like it's going to be great..If you find some baccala ciccetti, try some for me
.Gers, what a shame they can't do anything about the scar tissue, hopefully massages might help it. camelot, funny, I was asking OH to find mine yesterday when I was driving, I haven#t found them yet though...hope you find yours soon! and fingers crossed for cooked meringues..Chris, happy birthday to your DS. Coxy, your market sounds nice, I do enjoy a good one
snoozer, sometimes people see things that aren't there so yeah, hope Laura let's it wash over her...Izzy, hope your friend is more comfortable now, poor thing, she's gone through the wringer too...Take care all, slow down and smell the Baileys....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi12 -
Hi everyone,
taff, I think it's a universal problem with men, as I was going out the other day I told Steve to do something productive and he asked what. I said a couple of things but after I left I thought that it was obvious there were things to do, including several bags of (non-perishable) food waiting to be emptied on the kitchen floor. I'm going to use a sentence I saw on line yesterday - "Please use your own brain and not mine".
Laura was still upset last night but I was so cross at the audacity of the woman. Steve was raging when I told him, he and Esther have a very special bond.
Chris rang last night, they could smell gas and called the emergency line. It turned out they had a leak in the gas pipe to their AGA so it had to be capped off. Luckily they have another hob and oven in their utility room but it will mean that their kitchen will feel a lot colder, it's usually toasty with the heat from the AGA so I must take my fleece tomorrow when we look after Nate. Crystal's B-i-L is a gas safe engineer so he'll try to fix it before Christmas although he's very busy.
I had a terrible night, up for 3 hours from 3 so I'm behind now.
Have a good day.10 -
Morning all, I expect @Ruby will be in Venice now and can relax after the flight, I hope she has a wonderful time. It's a grey day again here with light rain at the moment that's expected to get heavier tonight. It's doubtful we'll reach the 10 deg that's forecast either, more like between 3 and 6.
Roll on Spring.
Nothing much to report, it's the same old, same old. I didn't bother with hair dryer yesterday, believe it or not my hair actually looks better than if I had. Told you it wasn't my strong point.
One piece of news though - before DS and his DP flew off to Brazil, he confided he was planning to propose while they were there. Well, he has and she's said Yes
. I'm delighted for them both and look forward to hearing when, where etc. Second time around for them both so it won't be a lavish affair but a search for a posh frock will be needed!
@Gers - Sorry to hear your appointment wasn't helpful and that the PI turned out to be less than satisfactory. Have a chill day today.
@Chrisca - Happy birthday to your DS.
@-taff - Thanks for the daily carol. I don't know about smelling the Baileys, drinking it is better! Mine is as yet unopened but that might change this weekend!
@snoozer - Love that sentence!
That's about it for now so I'll wish everyone a good day whatever you may or may not be doing. Take care and stay safe. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9
