Self assessment and P11D

Hello,

As employee I receive benefits - med insurance.

After my P11D was submitted this year (for benefits 2024/25) my tax code changed and the taxes on these benefits were taken via PAYE on my salary.

On top of this job I have to make a self-assessment for sole trader work, which asks me to mention my benefits under the employer.
If I add the amount declared on the P11D I have to pay again these taxes and on top of this I will end up paying for an account on next year taxes which, for the income I make, seems way too much if you forgive the personal opinion.

I'm trying to avoid double tax payment, if possible at all, at this stage.
It's impossible to speak with someone at HMRC.

Thanks

Where on the self employment pages does it ask for this?

Your tax code is only collecting the (estimated) extra tax due for 2025/26, not 2024/25.

Why do you think you would be paying double for 2024/25 🤔.  Nothing you have posted indicates you would be paying double.

Ah ok, are you sure of this? I assumed I was paying taxes for the 2024/25 year.
The amount taken off reflects what I should pay for that benefit.

If you are in Self Assessment then 100% sure you won't be paying 24/25 tax through your 25/26 tax code as HMRC will not know how much the underpayment is until you submit your Tax Return.

HMRC will assume you will have the same P11D benefit in 25/26 and that's why your 25/26 tax code has been adjusted.
