    Have a lovely Christmas!

  • Managed to declutter 5 bags of goodies that I had stocked up from Claires Accessories. They always had really good sales over the years so in amongst the absolute bargains I already gave to the kids in our family I managed to create a little hoard.

My pal has 2 daughters and my neighbour has 3 so bagged up all the remaining goodies which our kids are all too big for and told them to add that to their Christmas pressies - they were both thrilled and I am equally as happy to have gotten some space back.

    HNY to you all.

Hadn't logged on at all over the festive period. Had mum on Christmas Day. We went to my sisters for breakfast and to give the kids their gifts then home to collect the dogs and go see my granny up at the cemetery. I have never seen it so busy! Was lovely to see all the family and friends visiting their dearly departed.

Mum sorted some nice flowers then we walked the dogs around the place which is huge and absolutely lovely.

Mum went home Christmas night and has had that flu since so I've been pottering about the place mostly on my own and do you know what , IT WAS GREAT!!!

NYE I treated myself to a wee M&S sandwich platter and soup and was in bed for 10pm - so rock n roll.

I've had this week off work and honestly I have been SO lazy, I'll be back to my mad schedule with the 2 jobs next week and wishing I could turn the clock back.

I do need to sit down and go over the financials but I think I'm doing okay.

I'll maybe do that Saturday just so I can figure out what I need to add to my savings for January.

Oh it's another cold one today. -3 when I took B&L for their first walk of the day. Did manage to stay upright this morning so yay!

Recycling bin went out this morning, I usually leave a bundle on the breakfast bar and do the recycling when I get back from the dog walk because they come around 10am but they were early this morning. It's a small box and the dogs breakfast tins so not too much, just means I'm adding to an empty bin rather than a full one!

Came home and switched on YouTube, watched some True Crime while I had a coffee and some toast. My sibling called and we sorted out a nice bouquet of flowers and chocolate to be delivered to mum tomorrow for her birthday. We had planned to go for a nice dinner tomorrow but they've all come down with this flu. We'll sort something when they're all feeling better.

I'm just getting ready to leave the house to pick up 3 dogs who need walked. After them B&L be out again so I won't be home until about 2ish.

    Shall catch up soon.

Been home around an hour and still defrosting my toes. Nipped to Tesco for some bits and had toasted cheese roll with a pot noodle for lunch - not healthy at all but I needed something quick and hot. This will all change when the diet starts on Monday!
Someone posted on a local FB group that they have a bag of teddies going for free, gonna go grab them later, will add them to the stash I've got in the cupboard for the dogs to play with and this will massively help me in not spending any money on dog toys in 2026.
I'm gonna sit for an hour then I'll give the living room a tidy, the throws on my couch are extremely furry!

    2025/26 LISA - £4,000.00
    £3,000.00 - December - 01122025
    £333.00 - January - 09012026
    £333.00 - February -
    £334.00 - March -

I've got a Moneybox LISA which has £1.00 in in at the moment just to keep it active. Plan is to save £4,000.00 a year until I am 50. I will get £1,000.00 in bonuses per year so will have £40,000.00 saved in my OAP fund.

It's not a massive amount but it's better than nothing and all I can manage.

Seen a post on FB earlier for some more free teddies so went and picked them up. She only posted a picture of a few but when I went to collect she had 3 black bags full!

That will do B&L for a while and save me some money! I'll smash my goal not to spend on dog toys in 2026 and potentially 2027.

Dinner was mostly out the freezer, Had some steak in a black pepper and garlic butter, a cook at home baguette with some broccoli, cauliflower and babycorn. Was delicious if I do say so myself.

Luna was that tired and full up after he walk and dinner that she wasn't sitting next to me drooling the whole time.

Sitting cosy on the couch now and I'm just gonna relax for the rest of the night.

Tomorrow I only have B&L to walk and will spend the rest of the day pottering about the house.

  • Morning all,

I have a day at home today with no dogs to walk other than my own 2.

I'm having a little bit of a lazy morning. Walked B&L from 7:50am until 9:20am. Came home fed them and had breakfast so I'm gonna do an hour of housework from 11:30am and after that back out with the dogs.

Plenty to be getting on with this afternoon so I'll pick a point and make a proper start when I get back later.

Morning @_Dolly_Rocker_ I have to say, I am so impressed with your energy! My idea of a lazy morning compared to yours is quite different 🤣 Your dogs are very lucky to have you. Wishing you all the best on the LISA savings - will be following.
