Archos 700TV or 704TV? & where best to buy?

Hi there.

I'm looking at getting a media player, probably an Archos, but not fixed on that if someone can persuade me of the merits of another.

I'm intending to use it for backing up photos/small movie files from my camera when on holiday and probably for my daughter to watch programmes I've recorded to it when we're in the car on long journeys. As it may be used to watch programmes (with it attached to a headrest) I'd be keener on getting a 7 inch display.


I know that most of the newer Archos have wifi, but I don't really see the point in that - can't think of too many places (if any at all) where I'm likely to be that has wireless internet installed.

The Freeview TV option though did seem a good option, though I've not got that as an essential item, more a nice to have if it's there.

Regarding hard drive size - Not sure, but obviously bigger hard-drive seems more sensible, but I guess as long as it's 30GB or above.

The 700TV and the 704TV though definitely seem to be in short supply - I know QVC do the 704TV, but I was hoping to try and spend quite a bit less than the £460 they want for it.
The marketplace seems almost flooded with AV500 (EBay) and wifi options, which I can't see me having a use for.

So, any suggestions? On choice of unit and where cheapest to buy from?
