Warm home discount when you've changed suppliers

I was with Octopus on the 24th Aug which is the qualifying date but I am now with British gas. I rang and applied for the discount and gave the details asked for but weeks later octopus are saying that they won't pay and that my new supplier should pay, Is this correct?

I moved from Octopus to Home Energy on 15th September.
Octopus contacted me by email on 10th November to advise the warm energy discount had been credited to my old Octopus Energy account. They automatically credited my bank without asking on the same day.
Maybe check if you had a credit to your bank account from Octopus?

Thanks, I will contact octopus again next week and hopefully get a more knowledgeable staff member on the phone.

I've always found them quick to pay when applying in previous years.
