new debt collector after CCJ

a friend had a CCJ for a debt in 2001. she didn't pay & it was never chased up. 4 years ago another debt collector sent her a letter requesting payment, they seem unaware of the CCJ and do not have a credit agreement. Unfortunately she made a payment, They are now threatening a home visit. The CCJ is out of date & they do not have a credit agreement. Can you advise what letter she should send? I have told her they rarely turn up but she's panicking. Thank you

The likely scenario here, is the debt will have been sold on, long after all records of a CCJ were removed, so as you suspect, they may not be aware of it.

its Link financial, she been suffering with health problems & actually paid them £10 & made a F&F offer some years ago which they rejected so she just ignored them after. She made a request for credit agreement at the same time which they ignored.sourcrates said:The likely scenario here, is the debt will have been sold on, long after all records of a CCJ were removed, so as you suspect, they may not be aware of it.
