Could anyone advise the best way to contact the future pensions service? for a state pension forecast please? Also, is it free to call them. Thank you

If you cannot use the online service to get a State Pension forecast, you can do it by post using this application form. Fill it in and post it to us.

the question 05 previous names,
For example, a woman's maiden name.
Thus Mrs Mary BROWN is applying for the forecast but she was formerly Miss Mary SMITH.
Or a person might now be applying for his forecast as JOHN GREEN but his birth certificate shows WILLIAM GREY (change of name by Deed Poll).

Yes because at some stage your NI record would have been linked to that surname, all names could be used when trawling the records for completeness. Also when claiming the pension the same will be asked and, although no longer completely relevant, former spouse NI records could be used in determining pension entitlement1
