Never using EVRI again!

Sold an item for £5 plus £3 postage. Not received. Evri photo "proof" was of the parcel being left on a doorstep of a very different (closed) front door (I can see the correct front door on StreetView).
Spent ages going through the complaints and claims procedure, uploading every tiny little thing Evri demanded, and explaining at length that the photo is of the wrong house.
After "much consideration" they have refused the claim and closed the case - no appeal allowed - because "the photo proves the item was delivered"!
It's RM for me from now on.

Evri are a disgrace - i and many others try to avoid them...1

The only reason I shop from places that use Evri is because they deliver to my local shop (about 200 meters from my house) and I collect it from there. Not that this means that I get the parcel 100% of the time, sometimes Evri lose it before it's even been delivered. At least I get my money back when that happens though.1

It's the driver that will be the disgrace, they are self employed people and Evri's service is totally reliant on that person.Xenon said:Evri are a disgrace - i and many others try to avoid them...
Some drivers are better than others, the ones providing you with a poor service reflect badly on the rest of them.

The specific driver that covers your area is a self employed person and not employed by Evri.travelodger said:Sold an item for £5 plus £3 postage. Not received. Evri rely on that person to do their job well and when one driver is less than professional it reflects badly on all the rest.

Maybe so - but the culture of Evri is equally to blame not just the driver.Momogeew said:

I stopped using Evri when they were still called Hermes. Nothing I have seen since has persuaded me to start using them again. Is there an appeals process that you can use, via Citizens Advice? I see that the functions of Postwatch (and then Consumer Focus, and then Consumer Futures) were transferred to them.Presumably "a previous UK government" did not think it important that consumers have some form of protection against postal delivery companies that don't behave properly?1

Not sure RM are any better in this type of case.travelodger said:Sold an item for £5 plus £3 postage. Not received. Evri photo "proof" was of the parcel being left on a doorstep of a very different (closed) front door (I can see the correct front door on StreetView).

i live in an essex town pretty sure that evri only has 1 driver for my town of 40,000 lovely lady has been delivering to me for at least 10 yearsand she cannot ever be sick as i have never had anyone else but her deliver / big advantage is that she must know every door and never had a single fault with her/ hand delivers to me taking a photo or she puts it in my safeplace .i have a very good friend who is a evri driver in north ayrshire in scotland / he does about 150 to 190 packages a day / sometimes he brings the wife with him to deliver the packages while he sorts out the next delivery and being its north ayrshire he has to deliver to some farms in middle of nowhere albeit 10 cars is a traffic jam in west kilbride /fairlie/dalry / not sure if he does saltcotes which is a bit busier.0
