No, it won't be in the next five yearsoldandwizend said:
Yes, but most petrol stations have at least 8 pumps. I have yet to see any locations with at least 8 charging points.silverwhistle said:There are certainly more chargers than petrol stations though, and that trend is only going to continue.
And each pump is only used for a few minutes - whereas even a "fast" charger will be tied up for 20-30 minutes at a time. Am I going to be happy to queue for hours? No, I'm not.0 -
Yes, it will be in the next five yearsWe have an electric car. It was very reasonably priced and we now can burn off any fossil fuel car at the traffic lights. The acceleration is fab., and we love the quiet.0

Other (let us know in the comments)I'd have to have enough money to afford one first. Then the logistical issues of range and charging would be a major sticking point as I don't have anywhere to put a charger, no drive and I have a garden and public footpath between my house and car. Charging cables are expensive to install and maintain and would be a tripping hazard and wheelchair hazard to the general public. That's not even taking into consideration the local rogues who would probably try to nick the wires. So basically, until I have enough money to buy a house with a driveway AND an electric car. Anyone got Wednesday's lottery numbers?I'm an MSE winner!
