Being put out of work.. Advice needed

Hi all & thanks for reading this.
I've recently turned 49 and through no fault of my own, I'm being put out of work as I was approached to join a company as my background experience was just what they were after. Move on several months later, they've told me that I've failed my probation and my last official day is Christmas Day.
Needless to say, I'm devastated as my last job, I was in for 16 years, and have always worked.
I am in a very fortunate position where I paid my mortgage off a couple of years ago.
my wife works part time and have 3 kids that still live at home (28, 26 & 18), my 26 year old has a diagnosis of ADHD and doesn't work, however, the other 2 work part time.
I have savings between, saving account, premium bonds & stocks & shares of about £13k, but also have credit card debt of about £3500, and a car of £30k
I also have a diagnosis of carpal tunnel and also duprytonns in both hands which could cause me a few issues depending what job I go for.
Can anyone please give me a bit of advice on if anything, what can I claim? how long does it take to claim? an I best going back work full time or part time?
Also, I would love to hear any advice on getting back into work if it be part time (with top up) or full time.
Many thanks for reading this and sorry for the rant as I feel that I'm at the end of my tether

There is a benefits Calculator here which will show what you are entitled to.https://www.entitledto.co.uk/
I’m also wondering why you were the only adult working full-time in your household? Now would seem to be a good time for the others to step up and contribute more to the household. On the job front, what is the reason that you failed the probation, because that could be a factor in what happened next job wise.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.3 -
They’ve said in my probation meeting that I’m not upto there standards of record keeping, however, I’ve never really had any proper training for the position0

New Style JSA would seem to be the first option as that is based on NI contributions and you have been working. You may also have an entitlement to UC depending on the income your wife has.Are the 2 children who are able to work contributing to household costs, and why (although it's a cheeky question) are they only working part time?1

Currently the 2 children that work are not contributing to the house as they are on minimum wage, one is doing a uni degree, and the other is just working part time. Thanks for all feedback0

But you are no longer in a position to subsidise that, particularly for the one who is not studying. Even on minimum wage, they should be contributing something,All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

What income does the one who doesn’t work have? Does he get any UC/ disability benefits?
Can part time worker get more hours or a second job?
Would he get any UC ?
Yiu need to have a family discussion over the financial situation you are in at present. Everybody needs to play their part.

The kids are now adults and the eldest, at least, needs to pull their weight and get full time work. Putting it bluntly, you are being taken for a mug by that one. They have an easy life and seemingly very little responsibility. Time for a wake up call.If you haven't already investigated what benefits the one with ADHD may be entitled to, you need to do so now.0

What does the 26 year old do all day? Do they help around the house? If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

You need to start claiming immediately for JSA if you haven't already as the Job Centre will definitely not backdate any claim to the date when you were laid off from your previous job._ASH_ said:Hi all & thanks for reading this.

You also need to bear in mind that there is a week's waiting time I seem to recall from when your claim was made and your first payment. So you won't get paid for the first week from the date of your claim you miss that week. Again, another reason to get any claim in sharpish.
