Santander Mortgage Account Fee

We currently have a 5-year fixed deal with Santander that's about to end, so we're looking at new deals. I'm struggling to understand whether the £225 account fee that Santander charge applies each time you move onto a new deal (in which case, it's enough to incentivise us to look elsewhere) or else only applies once so long as we stay with Santander.

Can anyone who's STAYED with Santander from one fixed term deal to another please confirm?

Thanks.

Yes there's no additional account fee if you agree to a new deal with them. I believe the fee can be deferred until the mortgage is completed, the no brainer option. I've been with them for over 10 years with multiple fixed rate deals, never paid a fee.
